‘Sunshine on Leith’ wedding bouquets

This set of paper flower wedding bouquets really show just how amazing paper flowers can be. Bride, Claudia wanted to showcase her unique wedding, and as a part of that bid to be bold she commission paper bridal bouquet, paper bridesmaids flowers and even the groomsmen buttonholes were created from paper. After our initial consultation with Claudia it became clear there was something of ‘Sunshine on Leith’ wedding theme and so I used original sheet music and the Proclaimers lyrics to unify the bouquets and centre pieces.

Paper Flower Buttonholes

The paper flower buttonholes were a mix of crepe roses, dried Forget-Me-Not stems and Sea Holly flowers. These were grown in our Edinburgh garden and dried out over several weeks in Silica in order to keep their delightful cornflower blue colour. The Forget-Me-Not were particularly delicate once dried and so we added a crystal clear polyurethane to provide extra resistance. The paper flower buttonholes were finished with jute cord and ribbons made from the grooms kilt, produced by Tailor Design.

Paper Flower Wedding Centrepeices

We produced six medium-seized paper flower wedding centrepieces for the reception. Again, continuing the Proclaimers paper flower theme they included paper Roses, origami Kusudama flowers, paper camellias crepes leaves and rolled Roses. For the final presentation they were displayed on glass mirrors with sheet music confetti and small rolled roses. The instruction was for the guests to take bouquets away with them, which was another nice feature of this approach – the paper flowers become take away wedding favours!

We loved working with Claudia to create her wedding flowers and we she was kind enough to say a few words about the experience.

“Myself and Steven can’t thank you enough for making our wedding flowers. From the bouquets, buttonholes and the table centrepeices everything was spot on and attention to detail was just perfect. Thank you again…I will be recommending you to everyone xxx”
