hi everyone welcome to Edinburgh paper flowers today I’m going to show you how to make a crepe paper rose and so I’ve got a few

0:09examples here um here we go we’re going to go over how to make the rose itself and how to make

0:15some nice crepe paper foliage here

0:21and pop into one side for a minute so our tools that we’re using today as

0:29I’ve got this lovely crepe paper here it’s 180 grams Italian crepe paper we

0:36have our green for our leaves and we have this lovely ivy for our petals

0:42you’ll notice on this we have ridges and down the paper and which is for

0:48stretching and things we try to avoid using having these on full display when we make our our flowers sometimes it’s

0:56unavoidable um and on the green paper here we don’t have any ridges so it’s really nice for

1:03um having different sizes of leaves you’re not um held back trying to fit them in in between

1:10next we have our tacky glue here um so this dries nice and clear and it’s

1:15a quick drying tacky glue so we can get lots of different brand ones on the market but if you just make sure that it

1:22dries clear and it’s quick drying then it’s perfect you also want an old paintbrush here just you don’t mind

1:28getting a bit gluey um or you can use an old school glue stick that you would use at school and

1:33things just to just to get it nice and fine and we also have a polystyrene ball

1:38which is for the very center of our Rose we have some florist tape here get the

1:45small it’s different colors different types of greens Browns and things even white so yeah you can really get to

1:53match whatever color or whatever flower you’re making we have some hot glue sticks

1:59I’m going to use our glue gun big paper scissors

2:05little paper snips chain nose pliers or needle nose pliers

2:12or even round nose pliers would work just as long as they’re small enough and to carve over our wire at the end

2:18and we have some Cutters for chopping up to the right size

2:24we’re also gonna be working with this which is I’m using an upholstery needle you can also use something like an awl

2:31or even a kebab skewer would work that would be perfect this is purely to manipulate and curl in the very end of

2:39our our petals here just to create the shape that we want and so we’ll go over

2:44how to do that in a little while the wire that we’re using today we’re using two different

2:50um gauges of wire and the thicker one is for our Rose this

2:56is an 18 gauge wire and the thinner is a 24 gauge wire both of these are paper

3:03covered wires we’re using the paper covered as personally I feel that the it

3:08sticks better to the crepe paper that we’re using and also the the floristry

3:14tape I find that the glossier ones they slip quite a lot so you want to use the paper one just for that little bit extra

3:20security so we’re going to go through a few stages here

3:26and so we’re going to look at how we make our leaves and look at how we cut

3:32our pattern and shape it and then how we stick it all together to create our

3:38final leave here and we’re then going to go on and look at the process of creating our

3:47paper flower that we have here so this sort of breaks it down into the very different stages that we’re going for so

3:57first off we’re going to cut our leaves

4:05so what we want to do is we want to grab our leaf pattern and now you’ll notice

4:10on here there’s a directional arrow on here then you want to line that up with

4:16the direction of the crepe paper crepe paper is quite a lot like fabric where it has a grain so we’re going with the

4:23grain here and we’re going to chop up and our leaves so you want to lay it on

4:28there so it’s nice and straight against the grain and we’re just gonna use it as a guide

4:34it doesn’t have to be perfect and cut

4:40a length of the cracked paper again making sure it’s lined up I just want to hold it and we’re just going to chop up

4:49some of these rectangles

5:07and keep all our little scrap pieces for I don’t know when they’re going to come in handy so we’re going to keep all of

5:14our chopped up rectangles together and I’m going to turn it so we have the diagonal top to

5:22bottom here and I’m going to chop through them all

5:27on the diagonal all the way through

5:35I’m gonna let that side sit down and this side I’m going to flip over like

5:40that so what you’ll see now is that the the green line that we had initially is

5:45now on a diagonal and is now coming down into the center line here all right so we’re going to make our

5:53fresh leaf grab the first top two and we’re going to work with the left

5:58side here we’re going to take a piece of our wire the thin wire so 24 gauge and we’re

6:04going to chop roughly uh three inch piece of wire now what we’re going to do

6:10is we’re going to take our tacky glue that we have on our little paintbrush and the very end third

6:18of the wire we’re going to pop on some of this glue

6:24now what we don’t want to do is we don’t want to put too much glue on as you can find that the if you’ve got

6:32too much glue on it ends up staining the paper or sort of bleaching it makes just

6:37goes off color so we want don’t want that to happen

6:42all right let’s make sure you’ve got a good bit of glue on that end third and then I’m going to take this and where it

6:49ends here the glue we’re going to just put that onto the very end of our

6:56half we’ll write right on the edge it’s gonna sit on there and I hold it down

7:02with my nail just to make sure it’s nice and sturdy and while holding that I’m going to take my

7:08my glue and I’m just gonna

7:14pop a little bit of glue all the way up that Center bit the center fold again we

7:22don’t want to use too much we don’t want to saturate the paper or it will cause buckling and discoloration that you you

7:29don’t want to have on your final leaf

7:34and then I’m just going to put a tiny bit more on our wire The Edge that’s facing us

7:41just to make sure it’s secure and then we’ll take our other half and we’re going to pop that on just so it

7:48covers so this Edge will cover just cover the wire we’re not doing a huge overlap so hold it down

7:57and you want to stick it down as you go it’s always good to just have a quick

8:02double check that you picked up the correct piece and you definitely got the Grain Lines coming in to meet each other

8:08at the diagonal right so that’s stuck down now I like to take

8:14my nail and just gently push it in to the wire at the bottom

8:19now you’ll notice that the wire is only coming up to here on our

8:24Leaf so this means that the leave isn’t too um like rigid it moves a little just

8:32like it would sorry in nature and it also means it’s got some shape and form and we can bend it and manipulate it to

8:39the desired shape for our end bruises all right so turn it over and just you

8:44want to make sure you’re covering your your wire that you put down

8:50and we’re not seeing any loads of glue and things

8:55all right so now we’re going to make this into a leave shape so here’s one that we’ve

9:02chopped up before so what you can do is you can either cut it freehand with your scissors or you

9:09can use a template and line it up so the center of the template is at the point

9:14here and just go around with your scissors and chop that up

9:19if not you can just do it freehand

9:41so there we have our leaf and you want to keep doing that until you have the amount that you want so

9:47I’ve got a bundle here that I’ve done and and then these are sort of just ready to add into duplicates or onto

9:55roses and things like that so what we’ll do now is I’m going to show you how you bring these together

10:01onto a single stem like this for your foliage

10:08um which is really nice I tend to do it in odd numbers so you’ll have your either

10:13either three or five on the stem and it’s great for filler in the bouquets

10:18all right so we’re going to do that now I’m going to grab

10:24five of my leaves doesn’t matter if they’re different

10:30sizes that’s all fine and next I’m going to take some of my florist tape and I’m going to take about

10:35an arms length of the tape and you can just pull that to break it off

10:40and then what you want to do is you want to stretch the tape to activate the glue on the underside

10:53and I always just sort of pop that down glue side down so I know which side is

10:58which then I’m going to take um just a glue stick so like a print stick or any old thing it doesn’t really

11:05matter it doesn’t matter about the brand or anything like that and this is purely just to give the this tape like a little

11:12bit of extra hold a little bit of extra security so you want to take glue stick

11:17and I’m going to put a tiny bit on the very very edge the base of the sleeve

11:25like that and then down the stem you don’t need much it’s just to give it a little bit extra

11:30then we’re going to take our tape and I’m going to start by pressing that down

11:36onto the base of our leaf

11:43like that push it in tight and then start to

11:50wrap that round and we’re wrapping and sort of pressing

11:55it in at the same time so you want to go around maybe four or

12:01five times just to make sure it’s nice and secure and getting good hold now at this stage we’re going to grab one of

12:07our thicker wires our 18 gauge wire and I’ve maybe come down a centimeter

12:13and a half here and I’m going to put this right up against it here so there’s

12:19a little bit of a gap maybe three mils and then I’ve started here and what I’m going to do is hold them together and

12:25I’m going to start to wrap those two wires together

12:35I’m going to come down about an inch next what I’m going to do is I’m going to grab my

12:41next leaf and I’m going to just hold that down I’m going to pop that right on

12:47so that it’s right against the wire here don’t worry about bending them into shape or anything like that it’s just

12:53sitting right onto the wire and I’m going to use the tape and I’m going to wrap right round covering the very base

13:01of that leaf calm down a bit more and then we’re going to add our next one

13:14again wrapping it holding it against the the center wire and wrapping it

13:20around so and then grab another one

13:38check out how many I’ve got I’ve got four so I want to have another I’m going to grab one

13:51then come down a little bit more and I’m going to grab my glue stick again and I’m just going to run that down that

13:58Center wire and then we’re just going to tightly wrap

14:04this florist tape all the way down to the bottom and you’re covering up any

14:10little jaggy edges of the thinner wire as you go

14:21with this hand I’m sort of pushing it in and this hand I’m twisting it on

14:40now when we get down to here you’re going to trim off your excess leaving about a centimeter

14:47and add a little bit of glue onto there just to make sure it holds and I’m just going to roll that in so it’s nice and

14:54tight so now we have something else like this so what you want to do is just very gently start to

15:01Bend these leaves out and you can start to manipulate the shape a little

15:10put them into the position that you want and there we go so there we’ve got our

15:17leaves onto a center stem and it’s great you can pop that right into a bouquet or

15:23you can add it in with other roses and things it makes a great filler and so

15:29that’s our leaves there we go next we’re going to go over how we make

15:34our Rose how we make our flower here I’m going to grab our crepe paper again this

15:42time our petal color that you want to use

15:47now what I tend to do is I’ll make I’ll cut out quite a few at once and do them in batches

15:54so you want to take your rose template just so you know the size and we’re going to line up again so the vertical

15:59line is the same as the green of your paper that we have here and you’re just going

16:06to fold over

16:11so we can cut a few hours at a time

16:16oh

16:21I’m just going to chop right up here

16:34now again while it’s still folded like this we’re just going to roughly chop the size that we need for each one

16:44and you could be mindful of where these are and where they will sit on the petals as well

17:23Okay so I’m going to cut these out make sure it’s all

17:29going to fit in on what we just chopped there we go

17:35and just hold the pattern down and chop around

17:46foreign so for each rows I tend to chop out about 20

17:54to 26 petals it depends on the size that you want to have your finished rows

18:01you can have them as small as um nine petals

18:06but I really depends on what you want to go for so I tend to just chop out about 26.

18:15what we want to do is we want to start shaping our petals

18:20so we have so here we have it here we have our right side and a wrong side to our our

18:28paper so what we want to do is um you have one side where you’ll see the

18:35groove in the paper is facing you it’s puffed out towards you and the other

18:40side where it’s sunk in away from you so I’m going to hold the side where the

18:46groove is sunk in away from me towards me and what I’m going to do is I’m going

18:51to put my thumbs on the widest part of the petal here and my four fingers on

18:57the other side like that and I’m going to gently press in and peel it towards me so it creates

19:03this little cup that we have here do it again

19:10do again thumbs on the widest part of the petal like that and you’re gonna

19:16push your thumbs in and almost like away from you to create

19:23a shape that we have a few more times you want to do that

19:28with all your petals

19:36now for our rows we’re going to keep one petal aside like this where we haven’t

19:43done any more manipulation to it so we’re going to pop that here for the rest of our petals we’re going

19:49to take our all or needle or kebabs cure whatever you’re using as

19:55long as it’s um between two and three millimeters has a nice point and is fully rounded all

20:02right so you’re going to take that we’re going to take one of our petals

20:07and we’re going to hold it on the very edge here and we’re going to curl each

20:14side down so that’s the left side and then the right side so you’re going to end up

20:21with something like this where the top is curled over and you’ve still got your

20:26cup here so again as you can see it’s curled over

20:32and that’s the other side there the other side there

20:38all right so it’s not it’s not folded or anything it’s just simply curved over on

20:44that top Edge and we do one side at a time I’m going to do this side first and then that or vice versa that’s fine so

20:52pop them to the sides you want to work your way through all your petals doing that

20:57again so you’re holding you’re all on the very edge and You’re Gonna Roll the

21:02top roll it and then give a little little tug just to recreate your shape

21:31so it’s time to start building our rows so we want to take um our thicker piece of wire your 18

21:38gauge wire that you have here um and at the moment if we pop that

21:43through a pulsarine ball or even just try to start building the flower on it would just slip off

21:49um as there’s no curve everything just fall off the end so what you want to do is take your pliers

21:55and on the very end here we’re going to create a small Loop so we’re just going

22:00to grab it now remember it’s a thicker wire so it will need a little bit of force to get to to create the loop we’re

22:08turning it round and that’s just made a little loop at

22:13the top here now what we’re going to do is we’re going to take this Loop and we’ll turn it bend it to a 90 degree

22:19angle all right bend over so now our wire

22:24comes up and we have this Loop and it’s at an angle so what we do now is we take our

22:31polystyrene ball these are three centimeter poles that are in bowls obviously you can use

22:36smaller or larger for the different size of flowers that you want to make and what we’re going to do is we take our

22:42wire and the non-looped end we’re going to push straight down through the center of our

22:49ball of course and doesn’t matter if little bits of pulse are in try and pull away

22:56and things like that this is all getting covered up it doesn’t matter I’m going to bring that right down and you see it’s going to sit in

23:03snug in here against the polystyrene ball so to keep that in place we’re going to

23:09put a little bit of glue so pull it down a tad get your glue gun and just do a little

23:15squishy glue in there

23:20now obviously your glue gun it’s hot glue so please be mindful not to to burn

23:25yourself and I’ve done that many times but I like to sort of pat down and I don’t think I

23:33have any feeling left I’m burning my finger so many times but um yeah just so it’s nice and neat push it down into it

23:39all right but again it can be hot so please be careful so what we want to do is we’re going to

23:45take a bit of our scrap that we had earlier from cutting out our petals and we’re

23:52just going to cut um a couple of little squares and what we’re going to do with these is

23:58we’re going to cover up the green of The Wire here that’s been left at the top you

24:06don’t have to do this but sometimes when we’re making the flower this can still be visible um in the very center so this is just um

24:13something that I do as I cover up so again take your your hot glue I’m going

24:18to put a little dot on here and then cover it up so a little bit glue

24:25take your scrap and Pat it down and you can see you can still see a

24:32little bit of the green so I’m going to do it again I usually always put two on

24:41you just need to do it in the center because this is again it’s getting all covered up

24:50all right so now we’re gonna pop on our first petal so we’re going to take the

24:55petal that we set aside so the one that you haven’t curled in the top edges and

25:00again we’re going to cup it we’re going to cup it a little bit deeper than we did originally so you want it to look

25:06like this okay then what we’re going to do is

25:12we’re going to pop this ball into the top area that we’ve cupped I’m going to have this little point in the very

25:18center of our polystyrene Bolt you want to pop it in

25:25and then get in in place and then you want to stretch the paper over the bowl

25:30let you sort of put a little jacket on it like that and you’re going to hold it in place

25:36with one hand and then I’m just going to take some glue and squish it in there

25:45and then stick it back down here what we Pat make sure it’s all

25:51stuck there and then we’re going to deal with all this loose bit at the bottom

25:57again when we’re using hot glue you’ll get lots of little like threads of glue so just pull them off as you go

26:05now with the bottom area here you’re going to take your glue gun put a little bit of glue in

26:11like that and we’re just going to tuck these ends in and then twist it around

26:18the stem again that’s all getting covered up so don’t don’t worry too much about that

26:25so you end up a little bit like this now this has come loose a little so I’m just

26:30going to pop a tiny bit of glue on there and just give an extra little pattern

26:39so this is what stage we’re at here we’ve done our very very center of our

26:44flower so now we’re going to start building our petals onto it this is a sort of tricky

26:50bit here is to get the center and area how you like it so we’re going to need three petals

26:56that we’ve folded in the top curve let’s get rid of some of that glue

27:03so what you want to do is you want to take your first petal and what I tend to do is I’m going to

27:10line up over that Center like so

27:16almost like so the top half is again curving down over it I’m going to hold

27:21that in place and take your second one and I’m going to do it so it’s halfway

27:27halfway around this petal I’m going to line up your next one like that each one

27:32is overlapping so it’s half and then again take the third one

27:39so that’s overlapping by half I’m going to put this one at a slight angle this time

27:45like so so your final ball will look something

27:51like that when we glue it down so I’m going to hold it and make sure you’re happy with it you can always like make

27:56it tighter or make one side a little bit higher and that’s totally up to you

28:02these are our first ones to get set in place so you’re just gonna pop that glue down

28:09and glue down these overlapping petals

28:23now just like before we have this uh sort of baggy bit at the bottom

28:31again what we do is we’re just going to pop a little bit of glue in there and you’re going to tuck everything in

28:41and twist it around that stem like that

28:46a little bit of extra glue on there just to tighten it up

28:55so there we have our very center of our flower

29:01so now we’re going to start adding on our petals we’re just going to do one at a time and go around

29:09first one I’m going to add I’m going to add it so that we have this this edge here is going to be in the

29:15center of this new one and then we’ll start to build around so take your petal and you’re going to pop a little bit of

29:22glue on the bottom I’ll line it up how you wish

29:29I’m going to stick it at the bottom there hold it on one side there and we’ll do this finger and I’m going to

29:35stretch the other side around so we’re putting on nice and tight

29:40so that’s how he’s looking now I’m gonna get another

29:48this one we’re going to line up so it’s covering half of this side

29:55again pop it down and then on this side we’re going to stretch it around again

30:04and then we’re going to take one more for the center and do the same again where we put a

30:11little bit of glue we’re gonna cover half

30:17press down on the left and then take the right bottom Edge and stretch it

30:24around and you want to feel a tiny little bit more glue on this bit here just to

30:30finish just to finish it off so nothing’s moving out of position

30:37I use hot glue um as I find that it just is a lot

30:42quicker it’s not going to move anything and have done flowers with the tacky glue and I’ve found it takes a while of

30:49having to hold it and press it and to get it to stay in position and if you’re doing a lot of flowers

30:55um it just it takes far too long basically but again you can make it just

31:01with the the tacky glue now we’re going to start adding the rest

31:06of our petals on and we’re going to add them so that the the peak the curve on each of our petals

31:12we’re going to aim to have them so that it sits in between the two here

31:18so you want to have the peak in the center of the two so we keep it nice

31:24it’s going around in A Clockwork wise Direction and it’s covering any gaps that we have

31:31to get cracking a little bit of glue so you’re going to position it so that it’s in the center there

31:38um and again you want to Pat it down on the left and I usually tighten it on the right

31:46a little bit extra glue on the base here just to make sure we’re all stuck and then we keep going

32:05Rhymes in a clockwise Direction gluing the base finding that little

32:11Gap in between and popping on

32:20each time you’re overlapping third to a half of the flower in front

32:26so from this direction I’m going to pop it on see it’s overlapping and then I’m going

32:32to tighten it around

32:41now you just want to keep going round until you have the the size of the flower that you want

32:50you might want to stop and have a smaller flower

33:00and you just fill in any spaces as well making sure that you’ve got a nice

33:07um a nice shape to your rose

33:33I’ll get a few more on here

33:49foreign

34:30so again remove any threads of the glue that are there

34:36maybe stuck to you like the army or on the flower or on your mat

34:41now from this angle you can see these bits are a little bit loose so what I like to do is just go up back in with

34:47the glue gun and a little bit of glue and stick it down

35:00just so we know it’s going to hold its shape

35:20there we go so we’ve got this we’ve got our flower here we’ve got this nice little bit here that we’re going to cover up with our calyx which is the the

35:28leaves at the very base of your flower and then we’re going to wrap our stem and add a leaf

35:35so the next thing we’re going to do is we’re going to make a calyx which is the very base of your flower the the leaves

35:42so if we have a look um on this flower here you can see you your flowers ended and then we’ve got

35:49those nice leaves coming out from the base and then we’ve wrapped it and added another Leaf one to here

35:56all right to do this

36:02we’re gonna take our leaf pattern that we have here and with the same green

36:10crepe paper that we’ve used for our leaves to start with and you want to line it up

36:16again be mindful of the green grain line of your paper and on your your pattern

36:23piece and we’re just going to chop one out obviously if you’re doing Lots

36:29you want to do do it in batches you’re going to Chopper a lot more than one

36:41you can either use a pattern to chop the calyx or you can just do it freehand if

36:47you’re using the pattern again you’re going to line it up pop it on here and you’re going to just

36:52cut out these zigzags that we have and I quite like to just do it freehand and

36:59but if you want to use a pattern that’s fine if you’re going to do it freehand what I do is I take my piece of crap and

37:06I’m going to fold it in half lengthways and then we’ll turn it so that’s the cut

37:12edge here take my scissors I’m going to do my first cut I usually do one all the

37:17way down so that it’s curved and this is the start of my zigzag here and then what I’m going to do is our

37:25our zigzag is going to come down to just under halfway down our piece of crepe

37:31paper I’m going to start chopping and I want to do one

37:36two three

37:42and then this last one is right on the The Fold there

37:48all right let’s use the end up with something with the five zigzags and

37:55it’s just under halfway down here and what we want to do is see on here this

38:00has gone a little bit this is a bit wide at the top so you just got to take scissors and just make that a nice

38:05a nice point in that was the only one next we’re going to do is we’re going to shape each of these little leaves so

38:12first of all like we did with the petals we’re going to cup it this time I’m going to cup it towards you

38:18you’re going to put your thumbs on the top fingers underneath and you’re gonna pull

38:23that apart and push it in so you create a little cup like we have here and do that to each

38:31of your little leaves and then

38:36show something like this then what you’re going to do is take your your thumb and first finger and

38:43you’re just going to twist the very end

38:48there we go just a little twist to help the shape that’s it

38:54what we’re going to do is we’re going to bring these two edges together to create a sort of tube that will then thread

39:01onto our Rose now I have the Pressed in uh

39:08leaves facing me um so the curve is facing me when I do this you want to have them on

39:15the inside not on the outside where they would be indented in the way so we’ve got them out puffed out out the way

39:22let’s take one side I’m going to add a little bit of glue at the base here for about two two and a

39:30half centimeters up on the edge and bring the other side round and stick

39:35them together so you should have a little tube like that on your finger

39:40now with that on your finger just bend out your your leaves

39:49like that and at this stage we’re going to manipulate them a little bit more when

39:55they’re on the rows with your leaves all facing up the way

40:02like that you’re going to grab your paper rose and we’re going to thread it

40:07down the middle and then push it right up so it’s nice and snug

40:15hold it in place nice and snug right against the base of the flower

40:21take your glue and you’re gonna squishy glue in there and then we’re

40:27going to Pat that down and twist this excess that we have

40:34around the stem this will get covered up with your your

40:40floors tape put a little bit extra glue on here just to make sure it’s all going to sit nice

40:49and pushing it in I’m going to take off your excess glue

40:56there we go so now what I’m going to do is where we overlap them this little lip here I’m

41:03just going to put a bit of extra glue in there just to make sure

41:09we don’t see that and again remove any excess glue now what you want to do is take your

41:17little leaves and we’re going to bend them back and fan them out a little

41:31now you’ll notice we’ve got a bit of a space in here so what I like to do is pull it back a little bit more nice and

41:39gentle and just put a tiny bit of glue in and just push that up with my finger

41:45so it’s nice and hidden

41:54and go around each of them and press that in

42:00a little bit more on this side just tiny dot of glue

42:09there we go so now all we have to do is we need to wrap our stem

42:16all the way down here with our florist tape again you’re going to grab your glue

42:22stick and we’re going to pop it onto this excess piece of

42:28um the calyx there that we have and pop it on there and I’m going to run it all the way down

42:36and I’m going to grab an arms length of the florist tip break that off and I’m going to stretch

42:44it to activate the glue

42:49now you want to leave that so that it’s nice and snug sat here just before this

42:55curve here up to the floor so you see there you go it goes straight and then it curves up so you’re going to sit that

43:01right at the base of the curve I’m going to wrap it around a few times to get started

43:08and then this area here where the the wire is meeting the paper and when I again just go over that area a few times

43:16just to make sure there’s not such an obvious bump in The Wire

43:26and then when you’re happy you’re going to start to travel down The Wire

43:39again I’m turning with this hand and I’m pressing it in with my other hand

43:57I’m gonna go all the way down to the base

44:12there we go and you’re going to chop off your excess leaving about a centimeter

44:18and put a tiny bit of glue on the base there

44:24and then stick it down so there you have it there you have your rose

44:31so again you can put that with your foliage that you have here you could add them in together

44:37just look nice and or you can also add your leaves onto

44:46your stem itself so we’ll do that just now just to go over it so I’m going to grab three of my leaves that I made

44:52earlier

45:05I’m going to take a length of my florist tape and stretch it out

45:18okay and we’ll grab the first one and again you want to take your glue and we’re going to pop it onto the very base

45:24of the flower and down the wire

45:30and then take your tape and we’re just going to wrap that tightly around starting at the very base

45:36so it’s covering a little bit of the base of the of the paper where it meets the the wire go around a few times

45:43before you start traveling down so you want to do this to all three of your leaves and you

45:50want to come all the way down to the base of the wire this time on all three of your leaves

46:02and just break it off and put that to the side for a second so we’re going to do that same technique for all three a little bit of glue

46:24wrapping it around a few times and then start traveling down

46:29The Wire

47:10no got a bit left over so I’m going to use that in a second

47:15what wants to do as I’m going to take my three leaves and I’m just gonna

47:24lay them out on top of each other like this maybe at different heights it’s up to

47:30you you can always manipulate them at the end again a little bit of glue

47:36on the ends I’m leaving about an inch and then I’m going to add the glue now I’m going to wrap them together

47:42from about an inch down

47:47I’m gonna go around a couple of times then I’m going to grab my rose that we

47:54just made I’m going to come down to where I want it on the on the rose stem I’m going to hold them together hold the

48:03we’ve got our leaves wire and we’ve got our stem I’m going to bring them together and then I’m going to use our tape and

48:11I’m going to start to wrap them all together

48:17nice and tight no loose tape

48:23and you want to wrap all the way down far as you can use up all your tape

48:29makes it more secure

48:42and again when we get to our end bit grab your glue pop a little bit on

48:51and then stick that down now you have your leaves sort of like this so obviously it looks too stuck so what you

48:57want to do is you want to pull them out gently and put them into the position that you

49:04want there we go

49:10that’s it so we have our Center rows and we have the three leaves

49:17all attached on the same stem if you want to manipulate your leaves even further with it being cripped paper you

49:23can bend them so if you want them to be a bit more natural you can start to randomly put little pools gently pulling

49:32the paper away from itself like that or twisting the wire so you have more of a

49:38shape to your Leaf instead of it being straight but again it looks great even when they’re straight as well

49:44that’s that so we’ve done these together so that’s our rose that we’ve done with

49:50our our leaves and we’ve done our separate leaves here so you can start to

49:55build up um a bouquet can bend them

50:00manipulate the shape a little bit bring them all together [Music] use different shades different colors

50:11and there you have it that’s our crepe paper rose that’s it thanks for watching
